Located on Madison Avenue, an upscale storefront approached me with their vision in mind but needed the expertise to execute their plan.

After sourcing the appropriate materials, I was able to deliver the final product seen here.

I was tasked by the homeowner to create a front yard garden that's year-round but low maintenance and like many yards in the neighborhood, all without a nearby water source.

Those constraints led to our theme, plant selection and final design. In part to my horticultural knowledge and focus on prioritizing ecology, a combination of native plants was our solution.

In time, the planting you see here currently in it's first season will fill out to become the drought tolerant woodland front yard garden of our dreams.

Drought Tolerant Tree Beds

In this case, we started with an empty tree bed where the owner was unsure if anything could grow. I started by amending the soil laying the groundwork for our future planting. Being a public facing area, we needed plants adaptable to various soil conditions, city pollutants, fluctuations in weather, and the ability to put up a fight if push came to shove.

Gerard is amazing. He was super responsive to my inquiries. We discussed having him rework the plants on our small outdoor balcony and he picked out a great assortment. He was on time they day of and super easy to work with. Highly recommend!
